DreamQuest OS OEM Installation

About OEM installations

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Installation is a special installation mode in Ubuntu designed for system manufacturers, IT administrators, or resellers who want to pre-install Ubuntu with custom configurations before delivering the system to end users.

In this mode, the system is installed and configured with drivers, applications, and settings, but the final user setup (e.g., username, password, language, and timezone selection) is deferred until the first boot.

Default Kernel The standard Ubuntu kernel that ships with the release. Best for general-purpose use with stable updates.
HWE Kernel (Hardware Enablement Kernel) Includes newer drivers and hardware support from later Ubuntu releases. Best for newer hardware or better driver support.
OEM Kernel Special kernel built by Canonical for OEM vendors, optimized for specific devices. Best for pre-installed Ubuntu systems from OEM vendors like Dell or Lenovo.
